Ivan T. Mote is a lifelong resident of Jacksonville Florida who now resides in the downtown area. He was employed as a firefighter/paramedic with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) for over 27 years. In addition to working as a public servant, he also worked as the Chief Safety Officer with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) and served in the U.S. military on active duty and the reserves.
He holds a Master's Degree in Nursing Leadership and Management, and now serves as a visiting professor at a local university teaching BSN students. He has been certified in surface transportation and rail safety, and remains active in the downtown community. Active participation in the reshaping of downtown Jacksonville is a privilege.
