Sondra Fetner is a land use lawyer and an urbanist who serves as the Director of Placemaking for the Jessie Ball duPont Fund. In her role, she proactively collaborates with grantees to create vibrant and inclusive public spaces by navigating governmental laws and regulations, optimizing public policies, and building strategic public-private partnerships. She offers her knowledge and expertise to several community-focused initiatives related to health, arts, culture, and uban planning, was a TEDxJacksonville speaker, a Jacksonville Business Journal “40 Under 40” honoree, and is the co-lead of the Downtown Riverfront’s membership in the High Line Network.
Previously, Fetner ran her own urban planning consulting firm, was an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of General Council for the City of Jacksonville, and practiced local government law at a law firm in Gainesville, Florida. She earned a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in Business Administration and Marketing and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Southern California.
